This surgery, Calf Implant, is not very frequent but it is a common issue among a large percentage of women and men who realize they do not like their calf's volume. Watch out! Do not dare to inject any substances to increase its volume, it may cause a catastrophe.
The fat may be useful only if it is intramuscular otherwise it is absorbed. Implants are made out of silicone, there are short and long ones with different volume. I always prefer long ones in order to give volume as distal as it could be. It is an ambulatory surgery with an incision in knee's posterior fold and the creation of a pocket for the implant at a subfacial level.
It requires initial rest "little walk" to avoid any complications. Always have in mind that the implant does not reach the leg's most distal portion.
